New Rules For National Pension System From April 1 | Check The Details Here

New rules for the National Pension System are applicable from April 1. The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has come up with a new security policy to ensure the security of consumers’ data. PFRDA which looks after the National Pension System (NPS), has decided to make more secure systems. By adding a new layer of security called two-factor Aadhaar authentication the PFRDA is limiting illegal access for CRAs.

Starting from April 1, 2024, whenever we log in with our password to the CRA (Central Record Keeping Agency) systems, we’ll also need to use our Aadhaar card. This change was announced in a circular issued by the PFRDA on March 15, 2024.

Adding two-factor authentication makes it much harder for people to get into the CRA system without permission. This extra step makes sure that only the right people can access the pension system at the required time. The PFRDA circular says that blending an Aadhaar-based login with the existing password system makes it easier and more secure for its consumers. This means we need both our password and Aadhaar card to log in and access our CRA data.

Here’s how you can use the new two-factor authentication for the National Pension System(NPS)

  • Go to the official NPS website: https://enps.nsdl.com/eNPS/NationalPensionSystem.html.
  • Select the “Login with PRAIN or IPIN” option.
  • A new window will pop up where you have to enter user ID and password
  • Solve the captcha puzzle for verification.
  • Next, you will be taken to the Aadhaar authentication window.
  • To complete your Aadhaar authentication you will receive a special code (OTP) for your phone.
  • Enter the received code in the space provided
  • Now, you’re all set to access your NPS account securely
