As promised by the Congress government in its manifesto as soon as the party got elected it is working towards fulfilling the promises. Gruha Jyothi scheme aims to provide 200 units of free electricity to households in Telangana.
If the house has a monthly average consumption of less than 200 units it is eligible for the scheme.

The applications for the scheme are open and the details are provided below. The scheme is set to be implemented by this month itself which is very good news.

The readings for the February month will be taken in the first week of March. Within the 15th of this month, all the necessary details of the applicants regarding their Aadhaar card and Ration card will be collected by the officials as per the instructions of Syed Ali Murtuza Rizvi, Principal Secretary, Energy Department

CM Revanth Reddy is lighting people’s heart and their homes with the Gruha Jyothi scheme. The scheme is to cost the government around 4100 crores annually.

Let us see the requirements to apply for the scheme:

● The average household electricity consumption should be less than 200 units.

● The Aadhaar card must be linked to the ration card.

● Aadhaar card must be linked to their phone number

● It is also to be noted that it is applicable for only one connection per family.

● The Unique Service Connection Number (USC) should be filled in the Public Administration Application.

● The average for the 12 months of the last year which is between Jan 2022 to Dec 2023 is taken and if it is less than 200 units only then it will be considered.

● And it is also to be noted that even this month’s consumption should be less than 200 units.

● There should also be no previous pending dues.
